donald waters

Donald Waters began his artistic career at early age of three.
He would sit on the lounge room floor painting and drawing with
anything he could lay my hands on – boot polish, nail polish,
lipstick.

While growing up his parents spent a lot of time touring Australia
working in country pubs and this saw the beginning of his figurative
paintings.

“I loved to watch the old characters that frequented the pubs and
I based several works on these wonderful people. My mentor and
teacher, Francis Lymburner, taught me very early how to express
myself using the minimum of lines in my work whilst still enabling
the viewer to understand, and most importantly, enjoy”
